Info al respecto es dificil de conseguir.. pero tengo algunos datos. Es una banda italiana nacida bajo el nombre de Rome's Novembre el año 1991, formada por los hermanos Giussepe y Carmelo Orlando,su estilo de musica se basa en una death atomsferico con influencias del doom, realizando los demos Unreal y el EP Ark of Reality, despues de un tiempo la banda pasaria a llamarse simplemente Novembre y se integraria el bajista Massimiliano Pagliusso y poseen hasta el momento los albumes que son su debut llamado Wish I Could Dream It Again, Classica, Novembrine Waltz y Dreams D'Azur, este ultimo hizo un giro en la musica de la banda derivando mas hacia el Gothic y Rock, creando una mezcla perfecta de atmosferas y guitarras ademas de la voz de Carmelo Orlando, todos ellos realizados para Century Media. La banda ha compartido escenarios con bandas de la talla de Moonspell, Tiamat, Katatonia y Opeth. Para quienes quieran escuchar algo de ellos, les dejo este link que aparece en Century Media el cual es el sello que actualmente acoge a esta agrupacion. Vanguardia y experimentacion
Bueno.. el termino es un poco extraño.. pero se me ocurrio de alguna parte por ahi... Dentro de este genero, se encierran todas aquellas bandas que han experimentado con su sonido con el paso de los años... Algunos ejemplos... The Gathering, en sus inicios partieron como una banda con influencias del doom y el death metal holandes, principalmente de Celtic Frost. Despues de los discos Mandylion y Nightime Birds, que aun conservaban ese estilo, los dos siguientes mostrarian una onda mas liviana y ambiental, acrecentando el rock atmosferico que venian ya creando. If_Then_Else y How to Measure a Planet tenian fuertes influencias del rock progresivo. Souvenirs, el ultimo disco de estudio de la banda, daba un drastico pero agradable cambio en su sonido, mas lanzado hacia el Trip Hop como lo que hace Portishead y el rock psicodelico. Anathema, es otra de las bandas que han ido cambiando su estilo de manera progresiva, Serenades Pentecost III y Crestfallen, son discos netamente ligados al Death y el Doom Metal, para luego crear The Silent Enigma el cual ya marcaba un cierto retiro del sonido inicial de la banda haciendolo mas melodico pero sin perder la fuerza. Eternity marco el cambio de giro definitivo, un disco que tenia una fuerte y marcada influencia de la musica de Pink Floyd. Alternative 4 es la excepcion de todo el trabajo de Anathema, a mi juicio uno de los albumes que muestra el real sonido de la nueva era de la banda. Judgement que siguio la linea de Alternative 4 aunque un poco mas melodico y menos introspectivo. El disco A Fine Day to Exit volveria a tomar elementos que se tomaron en el Eternity pero ya con cosas mas propias de Anathema. Finalmente A Natural Disaster del año 2004, nos muestra muchas referencias a bandas tan dispares como los mismos Pink Floyd, asi como Radiohead (el tema Balance da cuenta de ello). Como ellos han habido otras bandas que han seguido su mismo camino... Opeth, Porcupine Tree, Katatonia, Lacrimas Profundere por nombrar solo algunas han cambiado su forma de hacer musica, sorprendiendo a sus seguidores (ya sea positiva o negativamente) y dando paso a la experimentacion y hacer vanguardia con su arte.
